(EDIT: I almost forgot one census with Bena and her parents. It's there now.)
So, here are the documents that I've found for Christian H. Christensen and Bena Marie Frogner. This line can get a little tricky. Niels Christensen was born in 1816 in Denmark and moved to Utah. His son, Niels Christian Christensen (1844), often went by Christian. His son, Christian H. Christensen (1869), who I'm talking about here, added the middle initial "H" to differentiate himself from the other Christian Christensens out there, but documents don't always include middle initials. So...let me know if I accidentally link to the wrong Christian, and we'll just try to stick together here, mmkay?
Let's start with the censuses. You can find Christian H on this 1870 census in Utah. It's hard to read, but they're the second full family from the top, and Christian H is the third person listed in the family. If you look below them, you'll see that the next household listed is Niels Christensen, Christian H's grandfather.
Here's the same family in Utah in the 1880 census, and Bena with her family in the 1880 census. Christian H and Bena were married in 1895 in Cache County, Utah, and you can see a transcription of their marriage record here. They appear in the 1900 census in Idaho, with two of their children. Here's a photo of Christian and Bena from around the same time:
Here they are in the 1910 census, the 1920 census, and the 1930 census. And a couple of photos of Christian H from about 1939-1940:
Looks like a nice guy, right?
Christian H also appears in the 1940 census, living with his son, Norman. Bena was ill at the time and living in Utah with her daughters, Lyma and Carrie. The 1940 census lists Bena as widowed, even though she was not.
Bena passed away in 1941. Here's a picture of Christian H (second from the left) and his children at Bena's funeral:
And a photo of Bena's gravestone. She was buried in Basalt Cemetery, in Basalt, Idaho.
Christian H. Christensen passed away in 1946. He is also buried in the Basalt Cemetery.
